Tom Sredenschek Biography
Tom Sredenschek is an American sports anchor working at FOX 29 as the sports director. He joined the FOX 29 news team in February 1986, after previously working at WILM news radio in Wilmington, Delaware.
Tom Sredenschek Career
Havertown, Pennsylvania is where Tom was born and later on, he was brought up in Media, Pennsylvania. He attended Penncrest High School where he graduated proudly. He later studied at Pennsylvania State University where he graduated with a degree in Telecommunications. While at Penn State, he worked at the campus radio station, WPSU where he served as the sports director for three years. He also broadcasted Penn State football games from Beaver Stadium.
Over the years Sredenschek has covered numerous major sporting events such as; the 1997 and 2010 Flyers Stanley Cup Finals, the 2001 Sixers NBA Finals, the Eagles 2005 Super Bowl and 2018 Super Bowl victory, the March Madness tournament runs from Philly’s Big Five teams, the 1993, 2008 and 2009 Phillies World Series runs, and heavyweight boxing title fights. In addition, Tom has also served as the producer of FOX 29 “Game Day Live” Eagles pre-game show.
In addition, Sredenschek has received many honors for his work, inclusive of a Top Pennsylvania Sportscast by the Associated Press and a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award. He has also been honored by the FOX 29 news team for his coverage of the 2008 World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies. After having graduated from Pennsylvania State University, Tom joined WILM news radio in Wilmington, Delaware where he served as a news anchor and reporter before joining FOX 29.
Furthermore, in 2011, Sredenschek was inducted into the Rose Tree Media Honor Roll of their Hall of Fame. Tom is a volunteer with the American Heart Association and he was a spokesperson for its 14th Annual Richie Ashburn Home Runs For Heart campaign. During his leisure time, he enjoys reading and running.
