Tom Green is an American ten-time Emmy award-winning anchor who is currently working at 9NEWS. He serves as the afternoon anchor of the 4 pm and 5 pm newscast at the station. In addition, he joined the 9NEWS team in October 2017.
He started his broadcasting career at 9NEWS in 1982 and also worked at KUSA for a period of Thirteen years where he covered sports from Super Bowls to Prep sports in every corner of the state. He was brought up in New York City and later on started his professional career in New Haven, Connecticut before he worked at ESPN which is a fledgling operation in Bristol, Connecticut.
In addition, while serving as a journalist, he has hosted an ESPN game show called “Sports On Tap”, covered sports for KMGH, and worked as a sports talk co-host alongside Doug Moe & Dan Issel at The Fan for a period of three years. Furthermore, he has been named Colorado’s Sportscaster of the Year four times prior to also winning ten Emmy awards. Furthermore, he began serving as the anchor of KWGN’s Daybreak in 2001 and worked on the post for fifteen years. During his leisure time, he enjoys photographing and is an avid golfer.
