Tisha Lewis Biography

Tisha Lewis is an American anchor and reporter who is currently working at FOX 5 DC. She joined the FOX 5 DC news team in 2015. Previously, she worked at FOX 32 News for more than four years serving as a reporter and fill-in anchor. 

Tisha Lewis Career

She has been working as an anchor and reporter for more than ten years across the country and as of the moment, she is very happy to be working at home. She is a Northern Virginia Virginia resident and this is also her native home. She says that her everyday inspiration is her mother and her daughter.

She attended Virginia Tech where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. In addition, she also continued his studies in Cuernavaca, Mexico at La Universidad de Internacional where she received a Certification in Spanish.

While she worked at FOX 32 News, she covered the 2012 Presidential Election, and breaking news from the front lines of NATO, a historic Chicago Teachers Union Strike.

Furthermore, she was able to survive the Windy City’s blistering cold including the Blizzard of 2011, the Polar Vortex of 2014, and the Blizzard of 2015! while still covering them.

She was also an anchor and reporter at the FOX affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana in addition to joining FOX 32 News. While she worked at the FOX affiliate, she covered stories that made national headlines such as Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels’ take on 2010, a deadly teen bullying case, and the Indianapolis Colts’ road to Super Bowl XLIV.

She worked at WTVJ, the NBC station in Miami for four years, and while she was there, she covered hurricane season; conflicts in Cuba and Haiti. Some were inclusive of; the inauguration of President Barack Obama and Anna Nicole Smith’s death, the 2008 presidential campaign, and the transition of power in Cuba when leader Fidel Castro fell ill. Furthermore, while she worked at WSFL, she also served as an anchor of the news headlines and also an  inaugural morning program, “The Morning Show.”

Her career in broadcasting began at Fox News Channel in New York in the year 2002. While she was there she worked behind the scenes on At Large with Geraldo Rivera and The Big Story Weekend Edition with Rita Cosby. later on, in 2004, she was able to secure a job at KGET, the NBC affiliate in Bakersfield, California where she served as a fill-in anchor and reporter. She first appeared on television while she was just at the age of fourteen as a “Posse Member” on Black Entertainment Television’s talk show Teen Summit-based in Washington, D.C.

Before she began her career as a journalist, she played classical piano for more than ten years, the Alto B saxophone for three years, and for two years, she played the violin thus it can be concluded that she is a lover of music. Furthermore, she has performed at The Duke Ellington School of Performing Arts in Washington, D.C with the DC Youth Ensemble.

She is a member of the; Jack and Jill of America Incorporated, the National Association of Black Journalists, and The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
