Tim McGill Biography
Tim McGill is an American Emmy award-winning meteorologist working for FOX 32 as a weekday meteorologist. He has worked at FOX 32 for over 30 years, and he previously worked at CBS 2 Chicago.
For a number of years, McGill worked for WGN Radio as a morning meteorologist alongside; Jonathan Brandmeier, Bob Collins, Steve Cochran, and Spike O’Dell. For the last 20 years, Tim has taught weather at three different colleges and universities The School of The Art Institute, Roosevelt University, and Columbia College. Prior to relocating to Chicago, Tim worked at WHSV-TV in Harrisonburg, Virginia for a year while serving as a reporter and meteorologist.
In addition, McGill also worked at WCTI-TV in New Bern, North Carolina for six years as a meteorologist. While he worked at WCTI-TV, he worked in almost every department including; sports and business, and for a short while he serves as a meteorologist. For a short while Tim worked at the National Weather Service Chicago office. Furthermore, McGill began his blog ChicagoWeatherTalk.com and he is also a contributor to a Twitter weather service known as @Currently.
Schaumburg is Tim’s native home and he currently resides in the far northern suburbs. He attended the University of Illinois and Northern Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in meteorology. During his leisure time, he enjoys fishing, and running as he has run in the Chicago Marathon twice.
