In the coming-of-age comedy The Talls, which was set in the 1970s and included an Off-Broadway cast, he made his theatrical debut in 2011 as a 12-year-old who was sexually interested.

He portrayed the disobedient son of the vice president, Finn Walden, in recurrent parts in the thriller Homeland and drama series Royal Pains in 2012. Chalamet was nominated for a SAG Award for Best Ensemble together with the rest of the ensemble. Chalamet debuted in a small role in Jason Reitman’s Men, Women & Children, his first feature film, in 2014. Moreover, he portrayed Tom Cooper, Matthew McConaughey’s character’s kid, in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar that same year. Furthermore, the cast’s performances were praised by critics for the film’s good reviews, which helped it earn over $700 million worldwide.

Chalamet played a supporting role in the comedy Worst Friends, which had a limited theatrical run and garnered favorable reviews, in 2014. He co-starred in the fantasy thriller One & Two by Andrew Droz Palermo the following year.
