Taylor Schaub is an American sports anchor and reporter working for KGET 17 as the sports director a position he took up in January 2021. He joined the KGET 17 news team in November 2019, as a general assignment reporter.
The San Francisco Bay Area is where Schaub was born and brought up and he has been around broadcast news since birth as his parents worked in the industry. He attended Full Sail University’s Dan Patrick School of Sportscasting in Orlando, Florida where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Salutatorian of his college class with a bachelor’s degree in sportscasting in 2019. In addition, while he was at the University, he learned under top industry professional and he gained intrest in storytelling.
After graduating, Schaub joined KGET 17 while at the age of 20. While working at the station, he has covered George Floyd protests, coronavirus pandemic, and many major breaking news stories on 17 News at Sunrise. In addition, he has also highlighted many giving members of the Golden Empire. He also shares this this chapter in Kern County’s history which he considers as an honor and privilege. During Taylor’s downtime, he enjoys cook for family and friends, and playing golf.
