Steve Crocker is an American anchor working at WBRC 6, where he serves as a co-anchor for the 9 pm to 9:30 pm and 10 pm newscasts. In addition, Crocker joined the FOX 6/WBRC 6 News team in 2003.

Crocker was born and brought up in Queens, New York, and while growing up, he enjoyed watching television. Steve’s older brother Rob introduced him to broadcasting, as he does jazz radio in the New York area. In addition, Steve attended Morehouse College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications. During his time at Morehouse College, he worked at WCLK radio in Atlanta, where he was a host.

In the late 80s, Steve worked in a number of radio stations in Atlanta while serving as a reporter and producer. 1990 was when Crocker moved to television and joined CNN News as a news writer. During his time at CNN, he covered stories such as the O.J. Simpson trial, the Los Angeles riots, and the fall of the Soviet Union. In addition, Steve occasionally filled in as an anchor for Headline News and CNN’s Airport channel.

Following Croctim’s time at CNN, he later relocated to Dallas, where he worked at the FOX affiliate, KDFW-TV, in the area. While working at KDFW-TV, Steve served as a reporter and morning anchor for three years. In addition, he has also worked at WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina, from 1998 to 2002. During his time at WIS-TV, he served as a reporter and anchor for the 6pm & 11pm news. Lastly, Steve joined the WBRC 6 News team in 2003, and he has been in the Birmingham area ever since.
