Steve Chenevey is an American three-time Emmy award-winning anchor who is currently working at FOX 5 Washington D.C. He served as the weekday morning co-host of GoodDayDC from 9 am to 11 am and also serves as the anchor of the 6 am to 9 am newscast at the station. In addition, he re-joined the FOX 5 team in 2013.
Steve Chenevey Career
On the outskirts of Pittsburgh was where he was born and brought up and when he re-joined the FOX 5 News team in 2013, was when he felt at home. In 2003, he first came to DC he worked at WTTG for almost ten years.
While serving as the host of Good Day DC on FOX 5, he has had the opportunity to interview newsmakers, celebrities, politicians, and celebrities. Furthermore, he was in Capitol Hill for almost a year covering Congress and our nation’s political machine daily. This was a dream come true for him as he had grown up in a farming community light years away from the United States Capitol.
He attended Clarion University where he graduated proudly and later on, he began his journalism career not long after in a radio station before he joined television sports where he covered high school football before graduating to cover the NFL and NCAA. and reporting from New Orleans in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
He worked in Ohio, and later on moved to Pittsburgh, and then here to Washington. In addition, he brings breaking news to his viewer and some of his favorite breaking news stories include; reporting from New Orleans in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and non-stop coverage of week-long mine rescue in Pennsylvania.
He enjoys traveling and his dream job is to have me chasing the headlines all around the world. In his career as a journalist, he has won two prestigious Edward R. Murrow Awards, and six Emmys while at FOX 5.
During his leisure time, he likes hitting the gym, laying the guitar, running around the monuments, snowboard sloping, and baseball fields.
