From 2000 to 2003, March played Cabot as the show’s main character, and she returned to the role in recurring episodes until 2018.

The character in Cabot and March’s work has gotten a lot of praise, and it’s often thought of as one of the best Law & Order characters and acts ever. At the 8th Golden Satellite Awards in 2003, she and her co-stars from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit were up for the Satellite Award for Best Drama TV Series. This spring, March also played Cabot again, this time as the department Chief ADA of the homicide department, on the short-lived NBC courtroom drama Conviction. The show, which had March in a major role and was set in the same world as Law & Order, was canceled after 13 episodes because both critics and viewers didn’t like it.

In later years, she was in the love comedies Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Treatment, and Falling for Grace. The Social Ones is a group mockumentary that makes fun of social media culture, especially how much people care about likes, selfies, and social media stars. The movie got more notice because it was written, produced, and directed by women only. March talked about how a production team mostly made up of women was different from one mostly made up of men: “We were under budget, on time, wrapped early, had fun, had no on-set drama, no backstage drama, and were fully supportive of each other—both in front of and behind the camera.” I’ve never seen a set that went together so well. Not an ego. All warmth meets organization, hard work, and drive. There should be more companies run by moms.

March signed with Echo Lake Entertainment in 2021 to serve as their manager in all capacities. After that, she played Debora Green, a former doctor who was found guilty of murder, in the Lifetime biopic TV movie A House on Fire. Both reviewers and audiences gave her high marks for her performance; Sayantani Nath of Meaww.com said that the actress displayed “incredible finesse and brilliance.” She also said that March’s performance was “impressive” and that she accurately portrayed Green’s mental pain and problems. It was reported that March would be joining the cast of Naomi on The CW, where she would play Akira. After its release in 2022, the show got good reviews from both viewers and critics.
