Sina Gebre-Ab Biography
Sina Gebre-Ab is an American anchor and reporter working for WJZ-TV as a co-anchor of the morning newscast and 9 pm reporter. She joined WJZ-TV in June 2022, after previously working for WCPO-TV.
Gebre-Ab was born and brought up in Baltimore and she attended Bryn Mawr School for Girls where she graduated with a high school diploma in 2011. Later on, she joined Duke University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology in 2015. In addition, while she attended Duke University, she finished the pre-med track and after having graduated, she took the leap and pursued her true passion: journalism.
Prior to joining the WJZ-TV team, Sina worked for WCPO in Cincinnati where she served as a traffic anchor and reporter for three years. Before that, she worked for WBTW in Myrtle Beach where she started off as a reporter and multimedia journalist. In addition, she served as a weekend evening and weeknight reporter at 5 pm and 6 pm. While working for WBTW, Gebre-Ab covered the widespread effect of the opioid epidemic in the region and Hurricane Florence. Furthermore, she has also worked for WGHP as an associate producer writing scripts for the noon, 4 pm, 5 pm, and 6 pm newscasts. During her leisure time, she enjoys exploring all that’s new in her hometown, going on road trips, running, binging really good TV, and spending ample time with her family.
