She is the female gymnast with the most World all-around titles. She is the first American female gymnast to win a World medal in every event, and the first female gymnast since Daniela Silivaș in 1988 to win a medal in every event at a single Olympic Games or World Championships, having accomplished this feat at the 2018 World Championships in Doha.
She has also been a fierce advocate for sexual abuse survivors since Nassar, a former USA Gymnastics team doctor accused of sexually abusing more than 150 women and girls over many years. Furthermore, she has courageously called out the United States Gymnastics, the national governing body for the sport she still competes in, for not launching an independent investigation into the Nassar scandal.
