Shepard Smith is an American anchor who is currently working at CNBC. He serves as the anchor and Executive Editor of The News with Shepard Smith which airs on weekdays from 7 pm to 8 pm. In addition, he also serves as CNBC’s Chief Breaking General News Anchor and Chief General News Anchor.

In addition, he joined the CNBC team in July 2020 and is based at CNBC Global Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, N.J. Previously, he worked at FOX News Channel where he served as the Chief News Anchor and as the Managing Editor of the breaking news division. He also did serve as the anchor of Shepard Smith Reporting from 2013 to 2019. Before then, he did serve as the anchor of Studio B and The FOX Report.

Furthermore, while he worked at FOX News Channel, he covered major news events such as mass shootings from Columbine to Las Vegas, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the attacks of 9/11, the Middle East conflict from the Israel-Lebanon border, the BP oil spill, Hurricane Katrina, and presidential elections.

When he joined FOX News Channel, he was a New York-based general assignment reporter before he was promoted to serving as a senior correspondent. In addition, he also worked at FOX News Edge where he served as a correspondent based in Los Angeles.  While he worked there, he covered a range of stories for the FOX affiliate news service, including the Oklahoma City bombing, and the crash of TWA Flight 800.

In addition, Smith started his broadcast career across the state of Florida including WJHG-TV (NBC) in Panama City, WBBH-TV (NBC) in Fort Myers, the former WCPX-TV (CBS) in Orlando, and WSVN-TV (FOX) in Miami where he served as a reporter. Furthermore, he attended the University of Mississippi where he studied journalism and graduated proudly. Holly Springs, Mississippi is his native home.
