Sheinelle Jones is an American anchor working for NBC as a news anchor and correspondent. She joined the NBC news team in 2000, after previously working for KOKI FOX 23 News as a news anchor and reporter.
Jones started working as a broadcaster for WICS in Springfield, Illinois. Jones worked at WTXF-TV, the FOX O&O in Philadelphia, and KOKI-TV, the FOX affiliate in Tulsa, Oklahoma, prior to joining NBC News. She spent more than nine years working at the Philadelphia station. On October 4, 2014, Jones became a part of Weekend Today and joined Today. She joined 3rd Hour Today as a co-host in January 2019. Jones worked six days a week as a co-host of 3rd Hour Today and a co-anchor of Weekend Today on Saturdays. Jones departed from Weekend Today on December 21, 2019. She underwent surgery in February 2020 to remove lesions from her vocal cord. Following the procedure, she was unable to talk for two weeks and missed six weeks of work.
