Shayla Girardin is an American Emmy award-winning meteorologist and reporter working for ABC 7 as a weekly reporter and meteorologist. She joined the ABC 7 team in 2023, after previously working for ABC 30.
While working at ABC30 in Fresno, she served as a weekend weather anchor and reporter. California is Shayla’s native home and over the years, she has resided in Southern California, Central Valley, and the Bay Area. In addition, she attended Pepperdine University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and an emphasis in Political Science in 2016.
While still attending Pepperdine University, she interned at ABC7 alongside George Pennacchio. Not long ago, Girardin completed her meteorology studies at Pennsylvania State where she earned a certificate in Weather Forecasting. In addition, she began her broadcasting career in Colorado Springs at KOAA News5 where she served as a morning reporter covering everything from blizzards to breaking news. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
