Shally Zomorodi is an American anchor working for FOX 5 as a weekday morning co-anchor from 6 am to 10 am. She joined the FOX 5 news team in October 2008, after previously working for Cityview Channel 35.
Zomorodi attended California State University Fullerton where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science in 1998. While she was attending California State University, she held the title of Miss Orange County, and her competition for the Miss California USA changed her life. Shally received an award for her journalistic work from the producers of KTTV FOX 11 in Los Angeles. The award assisted her in touring the studios in Los Angeles as she got advice on how to begin a career in broadcasting.
She secured an internship at Good Day Los Angelos where she served as a news assistant. Later on, Zomorodi secured her first on-air job at the ABC affiliate in Beaumont where she worked on Good Morning Southeast Texas. Not long after, she went home to southern California and she has been working here ever since. In addition, Shally has worked for the Voice of America, as a video journalist for the last 12 years. She has also worked at City View Channel 35 where she served as a reporter and host.
Prior to joining the FOX 5 news team, she worked on DAYBREAK OC as its anchor before later joining the morning newscast. If at all Zomorodi would not have become a journalist, she wanted to become a teacher and she is still in search of opportunities to guide and mentor. During her spare time, she enjoys; dancing, cooking, and spending as much time as she can.
