Scott Patterson is an American anchor working for WVIB as a morning co-anchor alongside Ali Touhey on “Wake Up!”. He joined the WVIB news team in 2024, after previously working for Spectrum News.
Patterson graduated from the Syracuse University with Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism and History. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Digital Journalism & Design from the University of South Florida. He began his professional career as a weekend anchor and Reporter at Fox 42 KPTM in March 2006. Furthermore, he had a clear passion for journalism from an early age, having anchored his inaugural radio newscast at the age of 17 and filed his first TV news report by the time he was 20.
For over a decade, he has been the voice waking up Western New Yorkers. Presently, he serves as the co-anchor for the weekday editions of “Your Morning” on Spectrum News 1, contributing to the morning routine of viewers in the region. He contributes to a variety of publications, such as The Wall Street Journal, LiveMint, and Canjex Publishing Ltd. His articles span a diverse range of topics, encompassing areas such as energy expansion, climate change, technology, and politics.
Outside of his professional life, he prioritizes spending quality time with his family. The Pattersons share a love for hiking and make it a tradition to participate in the Western New York Hiking Challenge annually. Instead, Spectrum opted to broadcast a statewide “Your Morning” show from Albany, featuring anchors Julie Chapman and Dan Bazile. This restructuring led to the discontinuation of Patterson’s role in the morning shows. This led to him losing his position as the morning anchor at the cable news channel three months ago.
Recently, he has been appointed as the new morning co-anchor alongside Ali Touhey on “Wake Up!” starting in 2024. He is taking over from Chris Horvatits, who recently revealed his decision to depart from both the morning program and Channel.
