Scott Larson Biography
Scott Larson is an American meteorologist working for KCAU as a chief meteorologist. He joined the KCAU news team in January 2012.
Larson earned a bachelor of science degree in Meteorology and Mathematics from Valparaiso University. He was trained in weather casting by Good Morning America meteorologist Ginger Zee when he was at Valpo, and he engaged in other activities with the meteorology department, including storm chasing. Additionally, he interned with WGN-TV in Chicago, IL, and WFLA-TV in Tampa, FL.
Beginning in January 2012, Larson worked as a weathercaster for KCAU 9 before branching out to become a reporter for the station throughout the week. He enjoyed visiting several towns in South Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa while doing reporting. In the station’s morning show, Larson made a transition to weather reporting full-time in 2015, and he became the Chief Meteorologist in 2018. During his spare time, Larson enjoys listening to music, attending concerts, and watching movies with his wife and children.

On Friday, December 22, in the 6 p.m. newscast, KCAU gave Scott a cake offering warm wishes on his next step. Scott stated that he would be heading to Grand Rapids, Michigan to work at Wood-TV as a meteorologist starting in January 2024.
