Scott is an Oakland native who graduated from UCLA with a degree in political science. His journalism career started in Anaheim, where he was working for KMNY radio as a reporter. Thereafter he worked at the Orange County News Channel, where he spent some time as a general assignment reporter and business anchor/producer.
