Smith graduated from Wheaton Warrenville South High School in 1998. During her time there, she was actively involved in sports, earning three letters in cross-country and two letters in track. Following this, she worked as a trader at Hermitage Capital Corporation in New York City, where she executed U.S. equities and options orders, conducted portfolio analysis, and prepared commission reports.
Her career then led her to become the director of institutional sales and trading at Terra Nova Institutional in Chicago, where she managed investment management and hedge fund accounts. Additionally, she played a role in developing program trading models for both existing and potential clients. Transitioning to television, she then started as an on-air reporter for Bloomberg Television, covering U.S. equities and derivatives markets, contributing to breaking news and analysis, and reporting for Bloomberg Press. In October 2007, she joined Fox Business as a reporter, coinciding with the network’s launch. She became a regular on Don Imus’ show, Imus in the Morning, in early October 2009.
Additionally, she was also a frequent guest on Fox Business Happy Hour and appeared on the Fox News late-night satire program Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld. In April 2014, she began co-hosting Outnumbered on the Fox News Channel, a show featuring four female commentators and one rotating male guest discussing current news and cultural topics. She also served as the co-anchor of the Fox News morning news program, America’s Newsroom. Currently, she co-anchors Fox News America Reports on weekdays at 1 PM ET with John Roberts.
