Sam Ryan is an American Emmy award-winning sports anchor and reporter working for WABC-TV as a weekend evening sports anchor. She re-joined the WABC-TV sports team in 2018.
Ryan first joined the WABC team for the first time in September 2002, and she served as a weekend morning sports anchor and reporter till 2003. Later on. Sam worked for ESPN as a full-time sideline reporter. While working for ABC Sports and ESPN, Sam covered numerous national sporting events such as; Sunday Night Baseball, Little League World Series, the 2005 Monday Night Football broadcasts, NHL on ABC, College Football, Stanley Cup Playoffs, and Home Run Derby. In addition, Ryan has also worked for CBS Sports as a contributor covering the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship and The NFL on CBS. She has also worked for the MLB Network as a studio host and reporter.
From 2015 to 2017, Sam worked for Turner Sports where she covered the MLB postseason while serving as an in-game reporter. Furthermore, Ryan has also worked for ABC-7’s NYC as the co-anchor of the station’s Marathon Coverage, Marathon Sunday, alongside Ryan Field after returning to WABC. During her leisure time, she enjoys running, and she has completed ten marathons such as the four NYC Marathons. She is passionate about promoting youth fitness and she is an NYRR Team for Kids Ambassador.
