Sam Kantrow Biography

Sam Kantrow is an American meteorologist who is currently working at WTNH. He serves as the weekday night meteorologist and joined the News 8 team in February 2011, as a weather producer and web meteorologist. 

Hamden is his native home and in 2005, he joined Western Connecticut State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Operational Meteorology and Weathercasting 2009. Later on, he interned at WVIT in Connecticut. His love for weather began at an early age when a tornado that went through Hamden on July 10, 1989, nearly missed his house. While growing up, he watched meteorologists on News 8 and always wondered what it would be like to be in their shoes.

He is a huge country music fan and his first concert was Billy Joel’s, he has also seen the Zac Brown Band many times. He would love to travel to Israel, Rome, Paris, and England. During his downtime, he enjoys carpentry, DIY projects, traveling, and cars.
