Ryan Field is an American sports anchor working for WABC-TV as a weeknight sports anchor at 6 pm and 11 pm. He joined the WABC-TV team in October 2016.
Prior to joining the WABC-TV sports team, Ryan worked for Fox Sports 1 in Los Angeles and while he was there, he served as an Anchor/Host for three years. While he worked at Fox Sports 1, Field served as the host of the station’s “MLB on FOX”, “FOX Sports Live”, and “MLB WhipAround” programs. Before joining Fox Sports 1, Ryan worked for FOX Sports Detroit, where he served as a correspondent and while he was there, he covered the Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings from 2003 to 2013.
Michigan is Field’s native home and this is also where he began his broadcasting career. He worked for the FOX affiliate WJBK-TV in Detroit where he served as a reporter/producer. Later on, he joined FOX affiliate WSYM-TV in Lansing where he served as a sports director. In addition, Ryan attended Michigan State University where he graduated with a degree in journalism. For the last 20 years, he has received awards for his sports coverage, these awards include; seven Michigan EMMY’s including “Best Sports Anchor” in 2009 and 2012.
