Flores is a correspondent for CNN based in Houston who has won several awards. She covers news in the U.S. and Puerto Rico as well as news from around the world for the network’s global platforms. Flores has been in charge of the network’s immigration coverage at the U.S./Mexico border, focusing on humanitarian reporting that earned her a spot on InStyle Magazine’s list of 50 badass women. Since she wrote so much about the Pope and the Catholic Church, the Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation gave her a Distinguished Journalist Award in 2018. From Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Flores also wrote about the buildup to the 2016 Olympics. It took her more than two weeks to cover the absence of 43 students from Ayotzinapa in the southern Mexican state of Guerrero in 2014. The National Association of Hispanic Journalists gave her the Large Market Television Hard News Award for her work.
She began working for CNN in 2013. She has lived in Miami, New York City, and Chicago. Before she joined CNN, she was the host of the 4 p.m. news show at Baton Rouge’s ABC station, WBRZ-TV.
