Robert Burton is an American anchor working at ABC7 where he serves as the co-hosting of Good Morning Washington which airs from 5 am to 7 am a position he took up in 2020. He joined the ABC7 team in October 2014 as a weekend sports anchor/ reporter.
He began his love for sports on the basketball court in Illinois and while he was in college, he assisted in leading the Millikin University Big Blue to the best start in recent years. Burton graduated early and he earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications. In addition, he started his broadcast career at WAND-TV where he worked behind the scenes, and later on, he was promoted from serving as an overnight news content editor to weekday reporter.
Furthermore, he has also worked at KATV, the ABC affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas and while he was at the station, he served as a weekend sports anchor for a period of three years. He has been privileged to cover everything from NCAA March Madness to SEC Football. Chicago, Illinois is his native home and during his leisure time, he enjoys getting in a good basketball game.
