Rick Ardon is an Australian anchor and reporter working for 7News as a 6 pm News anchor alongside Susannah Carr. He joined the 7News news team in 1978.

Ardon began his primary education at Sacred Heart Primary School in Highgate in 1965. In 1969, he transferred to Christian Brothers High School, also located in Highgate. Here, he completed both his primary and secondary education, ultimately graduating in 1976. He initiated his media career at The West Australian, the State’s daily newspaper. Where he earned the title of Cadet Journalist of the Year in 1977. Transitioning to electronic broadcasting in 1978, he joined TVW-7, a television station, as a news journalist. By the end of that year, he took on the additional responsibilities of relief newsreader and swiftly ascended from minor weekend bulletins to a regular weeknight news presenter.

This was alongside Susannah Carr by 1985. Together, they propelled the Seven Nightly News to the top of the ratings in Perth, a position it maintains to this day. Throughout his tenure as a journalist at the Seven Network, he has covered numerous significant events, ranging from the Gulf War of 1990–91 to the Bali Bombings of 2005 and the subsequent Amrozi bin Nurhasyim trial. His international assignments have included coverage of the Monaco Grand Prix and the Cannes Film Festival. During the Sydney Olympics in 2000, he presented the news to Western Australians directly from the Olympic Stadium. His on-screen contributions have earned him 10 Logie Awards as Western Australia’s Most Popular TV Personality. Beyond his news-presenting role, he has also authored and produced three documentaries for the station.

Additionally, he has achieved significant milestones in his career. Some of them include; producing impactful documentaries that include “Lives in the Balance – The story of 114 whales stranded off the WA Coast,” and “Riviera Rich and Raunchy – A look into the life of those on the French Riviera.” He also took charge of a self-filmed documentary focused on the Pacific. In addition to his documentary work, he had the privilege of leading a question-and-answer session with the Dalai Lama at the Perth Arena in June 2015. He underscored his diverse and accomplished contributions in the realms of media and journalism. In 2002, Erin Ardon, the wife of Ardon, obtained approval from the City of Stirling to run a bed and breakfast. However, the bed and breakfast ceased operations in 2014.
