Rhondella Richardson is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter working for WCVB-TV. She serves as a morning co-anchor of the Saturday 5 -7am and 8 -9 am newscast and the Sunday 5 -7 am, 8- 9am, and 10- 11 am newscast alongside Jennifer Eagan.

Richardson attended Northeastern University where se studied in its school of journalism and graduated Magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 1990. While she was in college, one of her major highlight was playing on the Northeastern University Division One Tennis Team.

Rhondella joined the WCVB team in 1996, asa l assignment reporter. Over the years, she has covered; the September 11 terrorist attacks, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton’s Martha’s Vineyard vacations, Boston archdiocese’s sex abuse scandal, and assisted in leading the coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings. She has also covered every rare and blizzard tornado that has ever hit New England. In addition, Richardson is among the few journalists who spoke to Market Basket CEO, Arthur T. Demoulas, during a six-week supermarket strike across the region.

Furthermore, while Rhondella has been working at WCVB, she has held a number of roles inclusive of serving as the first co-nchor of the weekend EyeOpener during its launching. Her many sources and her ability to break news stories led her from the anchor desk to the “5 Investigates” team for a number of years before she became a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor. Before Richardson joined the WCVB team, she worked at WMUR-TV, the ABC affiliate in Manchester, New Hampshire, WJAR-TV, the NBC station in Providence, Rhode Island, and KING-TV, the NBC affiliate in Seattle, Washington State.

In addition, while she worked at KING-TV in 1994, she served as a reporter on “The Today Show.” She also reported on an international reporting assignment to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi for a week.
