Reggie Aqui is an American anchor working for KGO-TV as a morning anchor. He joined the ABC 7 team in October 2015, after previously working at KGW-TV In Portland, Oregon.
After the nation’s deadliest school shooting, Aqui reported from Virginia Tech’s campus for CNN. He also traveled across the country to cover breaking news such as; wildfires in California and snowfalls in upstate New York. Reggie started his career at WLUK in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and later worked at WDJT in Milwaukee and at KHOU in Houston, Texas. In addition, he attended Northwestern University where he graduated from its Medill School of Journalism.
Before Aqui joined KGW-TV, he worked in Atlanta at CNN while serving as an anchor for the network’s streaming news service, CNN.com Live. He also served as a freelance anchor for CNN International. While he worked at CNN.com, he anchored CNN’S Facebook coverage of President Obama’s inauguration which had the most viewed streaming event. In addition, Reggie also covered the Japanese Tsunami disaster and the Arab Spring uprising extensively on CNN International. While he was live on CNN.com, Dolly Parton surprised him with a proposal to sing a duet.
