Since she started working for CNN in December 2004, she has reported on both breaking news and in-depth investigations. In 2016, Kaye wrote about both Hillary Clinton’s and Donald Trump’s bids for president. Kaye reported Barack Obama’s inauguration as president in 2013 and was the news anchor in Washington, D.C. She also covered and led CNN documentaries about the search for British toddler Madeleine McCann, which went on for ten years, the LAPD’s search for Christopher Dorner, the Jodi Arias trial, and the Boston Marathon bombing. She wrote about both the shooting at the Aurora, CO movie theater and the attack on the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek, WI in 2012. Kaye wrote from Arizona in 2011—the place where Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot.

Her show also aired from Ground Zero in New York City on the day that Osama bin Laden was killed. Later that year, Kaye wrote about Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s doctor, who was charged with murder.
