Since 2016, he has been the host of the global affairs show Mirador Mundial and reported on the biggest stories from around the world and Latin America. Romo started working for CNN International in 2009 as a Senior Latin American Affairs Editor.

This was about a scheme in which people from the Middle East could pay a bribe to get real Venezuelan passports. Romeo had won a local Emmy award at WBBM in 2004 for covering the Chicago Marathon live.

Romo was inducted into the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication’s Alumni Hall of Fame in 2010. This is where he got his degree in broadcast journalism from Arizona State University. Christopher Callahan, who was dean of ASU’s journalism school at the time, called him “a hard-hitting international reporter.”
