Portia Bruner is an American anchor, reporter, and host working at FOX 5 Atlanta where she serves as the noon anchor, reporter for the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m newscast, and host of the Portia Show. She also fills in as an anchor on Good Day Atlanta and the evening weekday newscasts. In addition, she joined the FOX 5 Atlanta team in July 2003, as a general assignment reporter.
She is known for being a dynamic and compassionate storyteller who sincerely cares about the people whose life events she is covering. Bruner specializes in consumer news, human interest stories, breaking news, and government affairs. She also shares her money-saving shopping tips and Bargains with Bruner which is hosted by her and helps viewers find thrift shops across metro Atlanta. Prior to joining FOX 5 News, she worked in Norfolk, Virginia at WTKR-TV where she served as a consumer reporter. In addition, she also worked at WAPT-TV in Jackson, Mississippi where she serves as a general assignment reporter and the co-anchor of the 5 pm newscast.
