Phil Price is an American meteorologist working for FOX 23 as a meteorologist, Investigative Producer and Weather Producer. He joined the FOX NEWS news team in June 2012, after previously working for KTUL-TV.
Price, a native of Tulsa, developed a passion for Oklahoma weather from a young age. His first encounter with severe weather was during the 1984 Memorial Day flood, an impactful event he experienced while living near Mingo Creek—one of the heavily affected areas. Despite being only 9 years old at the time, he recognized his calling for weather-related pursuits. After attending Tulsa Public Schools, he moved to Catoosa in the 7th grade and graduated from there in 1993. It was during his senior year that he once again witnessed the devastating impact of Oklahoma’s unpredictable weather when an F-4 tornado struck his hometown, causing destruction and cutting his senior year short by a month.
Following high school, he pursued higher education at the University of Arkansas, where he earned a degree in Geography with an emphasis in Climatology. Notably, he was a member of 10 NCAA Championship Cross Country/Track and Field Teams, earning 7 NCAA All-American honors. After graduating, he even competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials, making it to the final in the men’s 5000m run. Transitioning from his athletic career, he continued his studies at Mississippi State, obtaining a degree in Broadcast Meteorology. With over 20 years of experience in the Tulsa TV market, he has become an FAA Certified Drone Pilot. In his leisure time, Phil enjoys fishing and tending to his garden.
