Paula Ebben Biography
Paula Ebben is an American anchor working for WBZ-TV as the co-anchor of the noon and 5:30 p.m newscast. She also served as the anchor of the station’s streaming news service: CBS News Boston, and reports on all newscasts inclusive of WBZ-TV News’ “Eye on Education” reports.
Central Massachusetts is Ebben’s native home and he was brought up in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. She attended Boston College where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1989. In addition, prior to joining WBZ-TV in 2002, Paula worked at New England Cable News where she served as an anchor and reporter. Prior to that, she worked for NECN, and at WGMC-TV in Worcester, Massachusetts where she served as an anchor and reporter.
Ebben has served as a broadcast journalist for over 20 years. During his time, she received a 2013 Peabody Award and a 2014 Columbia DuPont Award while working with the WBZ-TV Boston Marathon bombing coverage team. In addition, over the years, Paula has served as an anchor, consumer reporter, and reporter, for which she has received many Boston/New England Emmy Awards. She won an Emmy for reporting in a WBZ Special on the Merrimack Valley Gas Explosions.
Furthermore, Paula received a regional RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award in 2005, for Best Feature Reporting. During The 2011 Royal Wedding in London, England, Ebben was selected to report for all CBS stations. She has also reported for; many New Hampshire Primaries, Republican National Conventions (’04 and ’16), and the Democratic (’04). In addition, Ebben reported on the Canonization of the Popes in Rome, interviewed First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House, and covered the three-city visit of Pope Francis to the United States.
Paula has also had the privilege to serve as the co-anchor of Championship Parades for; the Boston Celtics, The Boston Red Sox, England Patriots, and New. She is a member of the board of directors of Bridge Over Troubled Waters which is Boston’s foremost agency that helps the homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth. Ebben is a huge supporter of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
