Patrick Fazio is an American anchor and reporter working for WMAQ-TV as a weekday anchor of the 11 a.m. newscast and evening newscast reporter. He joined the NBC 5 Chicago news team in July 2017.

Fazio has won an Emmy award for his outstanding work as a broadcast journalist. Prior to returning to Chicago in 2017, Patrick resided in the south suburbs and graduated from Valparaiso University. He worked at KSHB in Kansas City, Missouri where he served as a weekday morning news anchor and investigative reporter for 4 years. In addition, he also worked for stations in Springfield, Illinois, Terre Haute, Indiana, and Idaho Falls, Idaho where he served as an anchor and reporter.
While serving as an investigative reporter, Patrick led new laws and also assisted in freeing a wrongly imprisoned man. He was recognized for his reporting skills by the Society of Professional Journalists with a national Sigma Delta Chi Award for Public Service in Television Journalism. In addition, he also received two national Wilbur Awards for best local TV report on religion. Fazio was awarded the First Amendment Award from Indiana’s Society of Professional Journalists. He was also awarded for being the best investigative reporter by the Missouri Broadcasters Association with seven Emmy Awards and ten Edward R. Murrow Awards.
Furthermore, Patrick has also reported internationally from Poland and Israel. He has also had interviews with; Mike Pence, members of Congress, Barack Obama, governors, Hillary Clinton, U.S. Senators,, and military generals. In addition, Fazio attended Valparaiso University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communication in 2000. While he was at Valparaiso University, he played wide receiver on the Division I-AA football team. During a home game at Soldier Field, he managed not to drop the two passes thrown to him.
In addition, Patrick was born in California and later on relocated to Missouri where he was brought up. He studied at Indiana State University where he earned a master’s degree in communication in 2006. While he was at the University, he also taught an undergraduate course in public speaking and media writing. After having graduated, he worked for KIDK-TV in Idaho Falls, Idaho where he served as a sports anchor, reporter, and producer.
