Pat Doney is an American sports anchor working for NBC5 as a weekend sports anchor. He joined the NBC 5 news team in April 2013, after previously working for WDRB.
Over the years Doney has won three Emmy awards and three Edward R. Murrow awards while serving as a sports anchor and reporter. In 2014, he covered the Sochi Olympics. He relocated to Texas in 2013, after previously working in South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, and Arkansas where he served as a sports reporter/ anchor. In addition, he also serves as the host of Wingstop Inside High School Sports and NBC 5’s Big Game Friday high school football show.
Furthermore, Pat consistently covers the; Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Stars. Huntington Beach, California is Doney’s native home and he was a sports intern at KABC for 4 months, Later on, he joined ABC 13 in Lynchburg, Virginia where he served as a news and sports reporter for a year. In addition, Pat also worked for Cable News 2 in Rock Hill, South Carolina where he served as a sports director for almost a year.
