Pat Collins Biography
Pat Collins is an American ten-time Emmy-winning reporter working for NBC4 where he serves as a general assignment reporter. He joined the News4 team in 1986, after previously working at WJLA-TV.
Washington his native home and Pat attended Notre Dame where he graduated in 1968, and later on, he spent a year in Vietnam. While working for NBC4, he covered breaking news and feature reports. Before joining the NBC4 team, he worked for WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., and for WLS-TV in Chicago. Collins has also worked for WDVM-TV in Washington, D.C. as a general assignment, investigative and feature reporter for a period of seven years. In addition, he started his career at the Washington Daily News where he served as a print journalist, and not long after, he worked at Washington Star.
Just at the age of 15, he started writing for newspapers, and by the time he was 17 years old, he has a regular column in the Daily News. Over the years, he has earned a number of awards including; 10 Emmy awards, a Chesapeake Associated Press Award for Best Feature Reporter, and two Clarion awards. Furthermore, for his over 25 years of television service in Washington, D.C., the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences inducted him into The Silver Circle.
