Nicholas Herboso Biography
Nicholas Herboso is an American meteorologist working at FOX 10, where he serves as a weekday and weekend meteorologist. In addition, he joined the FOX 10 weather team in May 2023.
Nicholas Herboso Career
Prior to joining FOX 10, Herboso was a student at the University of South Alabama. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast meteorology and a minor in music in 2023. During Nicholas’s time at the University of South Alabama, he earned multiple departmental awards. This was as a result of the inspiration he received to achieve high scores in his classes by the passionate faculty. In addition, Herboso received his first working opportunity out of college at FOX 10, and he is happy to be at the station.
Fairhope, Alabama, is Herboso’s native home, and he is more than happy to call the Gulf Coast home. While growing up, Nicholas lived through multiple hurricanes on the Gulf Coast. In addition, he also watched local meteorologists such as John Edd Thompson, who covered the 2004 and the 2005 hurricane seasons. All these experiences contributed to his love for weather and later pursuing a career in weather broadcasting.
Aside from Nicholas’s passion for meteorology, he is also a true lover of music. He started his musical journey as a trombone player at the J. Larry Newton School, where he was part of the school’s band. Throughout his schooling, he played in many ensembles. Later on, Nicholas became a bass trombonist for the University of South Alabama Wind Ensemble.
In addition, Herboso also became passionate about the marching arts, which resulted in him joining the Fairhope High School Band as a drum major. Furthermore, he was also a drum major for the University of South Alabama Jaguar Marching Band. On the other hand, Herboso also played the drum outside school for the Bugle Corps and the Southern Knights Drum.
Furthermore, Nicholas has also marched in both Drum Corps Associates and Drum Corps International for a total of three seasons. For two of those seasons, he matched euphonium and baritone at Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps. During his leisure time, he enjoys shopping at local stores, running along Mobile Bay, and dining at local restaurants.
