Morgan Kolkmeyer is an American meteorologist working for WGN-TV as a weekday morning weather anchor from 4 am to 6 am. She joined WGN-TV in May 2017, after previously working for WREX’s 13.
Kolkmeyer previously worked at WREX’s 13 News for three years and while she was there, she served as a meteorologist and news anchor for the morning and noon newscasts. She has also worked in Duluth, Minnesota where she served as a meteorologist and reporter at KQDS-TV.
Rockford, Illinois is her native home and she attended NIU where she earned a Bachelor of Science in meteorology and a minor in Applied Mathematics. Her interest in weather sparked in August 2004, when she witnessed Hurricane Charley from a close point of view, and ever since she has been storm-chasing across the Great Plains.
