Morgan Hightower is an American anchor and investigative reporter working at WBRC 6. She serves as an anchor and investigative reporter for the 6 On Your Side team. In addition, Morgan joined WBRC 6 News in September 2019.
Morgan Hightower Career
Orlando, Florida, is where Hightower was born and brought up. She attended the University of Florida, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunications. Two days post Highgrad’s graduation, she joined the WNCF/WBMM team in Montgomery, Alabama. While working at WNCF/WBMM, she served as a multimedia journalist for over two years. In addition, during her time there, she covered a number of big stories such as the deadly tornado outbreak in April 2011, the federal corruption trial, the 2010 gubernatorial race, and the State House.
In addition, Hightower also shared the stories of countless people who rebuilt their lives and tracked down lost FEMA payments. After Morgan’s time in Montgomery, she relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina, where she worked at WFMY News 2. During her time at WFMY, she served as a reporter before being later promoted to the weekend anchoring role in 2015. While serving as the weekend anchor, she did the 6 pm and 11 pm newscasts and filled in during the weekdays. Furthermore, she earned the station an Emmy award for her coverage of the 70th anniversary of D-Day in Bedford, Virginia.
Following Hightower’s time at WFMY, she later relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked at Nextstar Media. While at the station, she served as a morning anchor for the three-hour newscast called Good Morning America. In addition, Hightower also filled in as an anchor on the evening newscast. She worked at the station for close to 2 years before later relocating to Birmingham, Alabama. Lastly, she worked for seven years as a news anchor and investigative journalist at Gray Television.
