Monica Garcia is an American anchor working for KVOA-TV as a weekday evening co-anchor of the 4, 6, and 10 p.m newscast alongside Sean Mooney. She re-joined the KVOA-TV team in August 2022.

At a tender age, Monica gained an interest in storytelling and she enjoyed telling stories to her fellow second-grade classmates during recess. She went to an international high school in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico where she learned how to speak Spanish. Later on, she joined the University of Texas at El Paso, Monica where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mass communications and media studies in 2007. In addition, Monica relocated to Arizona where she worked for the NBC affiliate WRC-TV while serving as a writer and production assistant.
Furthermore, when Pope Benedict XVI first visited Washington D.C. in 2008, Garcia assisted by serving as a field producer. Ever since she has covered a number of high-profile news such as; Hurricane Irma in Florida, the Orlando Nightclub Shooting, Hurricane Florence in North Carolina, and the Alligator attack at Disney World. In addition, Monica and her photographer covered Hurricane Florence close to downtown Lumberton, North Carolina.
In addition, Garcia has also worked for KUSI Television in San Diego where she served as a producer and writer. Mononica worked at The San Diego Union-Tribune in San Diego as a morning news reporter. While she was there, she also served as a fill-in morning anchor and fill-in host of Spotlight San Diego. Furthermore, Garcia first joined the KVOA-TV team in May 2014, as a morning reporter and multimedia journalist till May 2016, when she left the station.
After leaving the KVOA-TV team, Garcia worked for NBC 12 and ABC 25 in Jacksonville, Florida. While she was there, she served as a weekend morning anchor from 8 am to 10 am and multimedia journalist. She also worked for KPNX-TV in Phoenix, Arizona where she served as a fill-in anchor, multimedia journalist, and reporter for 4 years. During her spare time, she enjoys trying out new foods and she is on a quest to try every Mexican restaurant.
