Monica Cryan is an American meteorologist working for PHL17 as a weekday morning meteorologist from 5 am to 9 am. She joined the PHL 17 team in October 2018.
Cryan is happy to be forecasting in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley for her family and friends. She attended Waldron Mercy and Merion Mercy Academy in Lower Merion where she studied all through the 12th grade. In addition, Monica later attended Penn State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in meteorology. She is a proud Nittany Lion, and while she was in college, she was a member of; Penn State Network TV, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, THON, and Campus Weather Service.
After having graduated from Penn State University, Cryan worked as a meteorologist for stations in Connecticut, Texas, Colorado, and Alabama. During that time the American Meteorological Society awarded Cryan with the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal. In addition, Monica’s free time is spent walking the boards in Ocean City, having a drink in Somers Point, eating, shopping in Atlantic City, and being found down the shore with her family and friends. Furthermore, she also enjoys; skiing in the Poconos, and exploring the many Italian BYOs in the city.
