Mike Mibach Biography
Mike Mibach is an American anchor who is currently working at KTVU. He serves as the morning co-anchor of Mornings on 2 alongside anchors Gasia Mikaelian, Frank Mallicoat, Pam Cook, and traffic anchor Sal Castaneda. He also serves as the noon Anchor and reporter for a number of special projects. In addition, he joined the KTVU team in March 2015, as a general assignment reporter.

Mike attended St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco for his high school where he proudly graduated with the 1994 class. He left for college of Marin for a few years and later transferred to the University of Colorado at Boulder where he studied broadcast news. In addition, his request to join the J-School was denied twice but he did not give up and applied a third time and was accepted, and in May 2000, he graduated.

When he was 21 years old, he made a promise to his late father that he would leave the Bay Area to go on a journey and would come back as a reporter. Mibach started his journalism career in Topeka, Kansas where he worked at WIBW. While he worked at WIBW, the news director told him that he had a lot to learn before e became a reporter thus he began as a photographer.
In addition, he relocated to Tucson, Arizona where he worked at KVOA and during his first five days, he served as a reporter. After a number of years, he began serving as the weekend evening anchor. He joined the KTVU as a general assignment reporter from Wednesday to Sunday in March 2005. In addition, since he joined the KTVU team, he has assisted in launching Mornings on 2 Saturday and Sunday, co-anchoring with Claudine Wong.
Furthermore, he later assisted in launching the 9 a.m. newscast called The Nine and KTVU FOX 2 News at 4. During his leisure time, he enjoys relaxing on the beaches along the Sonoma and Marin coasts and the trails up on Mt. Tam. He coaches youth sports.
