Mike Manzoni Career
Previously, he worked at WFTV-TV an ABC affiliate in Orlando, Florida where he served as a reporter. While he worked in Central Florida for a period of two years, he covered a number of national stories inclusive of; Hurricane Matthew, Hurricane Irma, President Obama’s visit to Orlando, the deadly alligator attack at Disney World, and the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando
Furthermore, he worked at WSPA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Spartanburg, South Carolina for a period of two years. Additionally, he covered the Confederate flag controversy at the South Carolina State House for a period of two weeks in Columbia. Prior to also covering the devastating flooding in Richland County. He traveled to North Charleston in 2015 to lead the station’s coverage of the Walter Scott police shooting that made national headlines.
In addition, he broke a number of stories across the Upstate. He also did expose a legal loophole in South Carolina’s concealed weapons permit law that some said put the public at risk. Furthermore, he has also worked at KRIS-TV and KZTV-TV, the NBC and CBS duopoly in Corpus Christi, Texas for two years.
While he was in Lone Star State, he uncovered many sex offenders living near elementary schools, exposed a tanning salon that broke the law, and investigated food stamp fraud. Furthermore, he traveled to the West, where he filed reports on the aftermath of the fertilizer plant explosion that garnered national attention.
He was part of the team honored with a Southeast Emmy Award for best newscast in 2015. In addition, he was honored with an honorable mention in the reporter craft achievement competition by the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2013.
South Shore is his native home. He attended Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York where he graduated proudly with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and political science.
