Mike Grogan Biography
Mike Grogan is an American meteorologist working for FOX 23 as a meteorologist. He joined the FOX 23 news team in April 2011, after previously working for Nextar Media Group Inc.
In 2008, Grogan achieved cum laude status upon earning his meteorology degree from Valparaiso University in Indiana. Since then, he has been an active member of the American Meteorological Society, currently holding the position of local chapter president. He is also recognized as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist through the AMS. A Tulsa native, he is delighted to continue his career in Green Country with FOX23. Since April 2011, he has provided forecasts for a range of weather phenomena, from tornado outbreaks to winter storms, becoming a familiar face in Tulsa. Prior to this, he covered weather in the Mid-Atlantic states, based in Hagerstown, Maryland. Beyond his studio work, he is a passionate storm chaser, having pursued storms in more than 15 states across the country. He cherishes every opportunity to witness the extremes of Mother Nature.
Actively engaged in the community, he serves on the board of the Disaster Resilience Network and the local chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Additionally, he takes on leadership roles in various local initiatives related to food justice and cross-cultural emergency preparedness. Outside of his professional commitments, he finds joy in indoor rock climbing and attending performances at Cain’s Ballroom. His love for travel takes him far and wide, often in pursuit of a mountain to climb. Working towards a personal goal, he aims to conquer the highest point in all 50 states.
