Mike Dubberly is an American anchor working for WBRC 6, where he serves as the morning co-anchor of Good Day Alabama. Prior to his anchoring role, he was an award-winning sports anchor.
Mike Dubberly Career
Dubberly joined the WBRC news team in 1996, and prior to Mike’s time at WBRC, he worked at KARE-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he served as a sports anchor and reporter. In addition, Dubberly has also worked at WCFT-TV in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Florida is Mike’s native home, and while growing up, he enjoyed playing sports and playing varsity football. Dubberly attended university and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism. Over the years, Mike has received a number of industry awards. Mike was named the Alabama Associated Press Sportscaster of the Year in 2004. In addition, during the 2006 convention Mike took home an A.P. Award for Best Sports Feature.
Furthermore, in 1986, Dubberly won a UPI award for Best Sports Radio Feature. He has also won the 2000 Associated Press Award for Best Sports Feature Reporting. In 1987, Mike was presented with an Associated Press Award for his Best Sports Coverage. In addition, for Mike’s work on the WBRC 6 News show “Sideline ’99,” he received an Associated Press Award.
While Dubberly was a sports anchor and reporter, he covered so many sports events. He has covered Alabama-Auburn football games, the World Series to the Super Bowl, and many NCAA tournament games. During his leisure time, he enjoys spending ample time with his family, playing golf, playing video games, playing basketball, lifting weights, and taking part in charity events.
