Mike Berman Biography
Mike Berman is an American sports anchor and reporter working for WMAQ-TV. He joined the NBC5 news team in August 2016, after previously working for CBS4 Indy.
Chicago is where Berman was born and later on, he was brought up in Northbrook. He attended Glenbrook North High School where he graduated with a high school diploma. Mike then joined the University of Missouri where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. While he studied at the University of Missouri, he also worked for KOMU (NBC) where he served as a sports anchor/reporter/ producer, and PA announcer for the Missouri Baseball team.
In addition, prior to returning home, Berman worked for WTTV (CBS) in Indianapolis where he served as a main sports anchor for close to two years. Before that, he also worked at Time Warner Cable News in Austin, Texas where he worked for over six years while serving as a sports anchor/reporter. Furthermore, Berman started his career at WICS (ABC) in Springfield, Illinois where served as a sports anchor and reporter for two years.
While serving as a sports journalist, Mike has witnessed a number of the largest sporting events in the United States. Berman has had the opportunity to cover; the NBA Finals, College World Series, World Series, the Super Bowl, Men’s and Women’s Final Four, Indy 500, and many bowl games. During Mikes’ leisure time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, playing basketball, and spending time with friends and family.
