Miana Massey Biography
Miana Massey is an American anchor and reporter working for WJZ-TV as a weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter. She joined the WJZ team in December 2022.
Baltimore is Massey’s native home and she attended Garrison Forest School in Owings Mills where she graduated with a high school diploma. Later on, she joined Howard University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in communications. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. Miana is happy to be back home and to be serving as an ambassador for the local community. While working for WJZ-TV, she produces unique stories that push boundaries and shatter perceptions. Furthermore, she also believes that it is her responsibility to not only produce stories of truth and accuracy but also of relevancy
Prior to Miana’s graduation, she worked at The Internet & Television Association in Washington D.C where she was a Communications & Public Affairs Intern. She also interned at E! Networks as a reporter in Los Angeles. In April 2015, Massey witnessed the media’s power to shape, develop, and drive stories during the aftermath of Freddie Gray’s death which resulted in her gaining a passion for broadcasting. In addition, before Massey joined WJZ-TV, she worked as a general assignment reporter for WLWT-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio. Before that, Miana worked as a multimedia journalist in Fort Myers, Florida. Furthermore, during her spare time, she enjoys going to the movies, traveling, hanging out with family and friends, and spoken word.
