Ball brings over two decades of forecasting experience to the WFXG weather team, gained both through television work and on-site coverage of road courses. Which are auto racing events with the National Auto Sport Association. Her lifelong interest in weather, cultivated while growing up in South Florida, has been a driving force in her career. The weather has played a central role in her life, from its impact on the family farming business to shaping weekend activities. The profound impact of Hurricane Andrew in August 1992 solidified her deep respect for the formidable power of hurricanes. Her encounter with Hurricane Andrew served as a catalyst for her pursuit of a career in meteorology.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with Minors in Art, Communications, Math, and Physics from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. As a member of the American Meteorological Society and an Advanced Skywarn Spotter with the National Weather Service, she actively contributes by reporting rainfall data from her North Augusta backyard to CoCoRaHS. Beyond her commitment to weather observation and forecasting, she finds joy in spending time with her family, traveling, scuba diving, learning gymnastics, and teaching aerobics classes.
