Mekahlo Medina is an American anchor who is currently working at NBC4. He serves as the weekend morning anchor from 7 to 8 a.m and also as the weekday’s anchor of Today in LA which airs at 11 am on KNBC. In addition, he joined the KNBC news team in 2006.

When he joined the Nbc4 news team he served as an anchor and manager of “News Raw,” a news show that aired on the station’s digital channel focusing on hyper-local news coverage, culture, technology, and social media. Previously, he worked at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis where he served as a general assignment reporter. He has also worked at; KTSM in El Paso, KOB-TV in Albuquerque, NBC television affiliates, and KPNX-TV in Phoenix.
Furthermore, he is the Interim Executive Director of CCNMA, Latino Journalists of California prior to being a member of the Native American Journalists Association, and the National Lesbian and Gay Journalist Association. He has also served as the president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. On the UNITY Journalists for Diversity, he served as its secretary. In addition, he is a prolific painter and enjoys writing poetry about the Latino experience.
He attended New Mexico State University where he graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism prior to being eloquent in Spanish.
