Meaghan Thomas is an American meteorologist working for WBRC 6 as a morning meteorologist on Good Day Alabama. She joined the WBRC 6 weather team in August 2024, after previously working at WKRN.

Thomas attended the University of Alabama, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast news and geography in 2012. During her time at Alabama University, she had a firsthand experience with the April 27, 2011, tornado outbreak. In addition, Meaghan has also attended Mississippi State University, where she earned a master’s degree in broadcast meteorology.
During her time at Mississippi State University, she served as a teaching assistant in the Department of Communications. Furthermore, Thomas also worked at WCBI in Columbus, Mississippi, where she worked as a meteorologist during her graduate year. After having graduated, Meaghan returned to Birmingham, Alabama, where she worked for the ABC affiliate in the area for six years.
In addition, she also worked intermittently at the University of Alabama, where she taught the Fundamentals of Electronic News as an adjunct teaching professor. Furthermore, for her outstanding work as a meteorologist, Meaghan received the Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval. More to that, Thomas is the founder of a nonprofit organization called The Heart of Hearing. The organization was founded in 2021, and it focuses on providing hearing aids to young professionals in need.
Meaghan has also authored two children’s books that focus on the weather. Her first book is known as The Heart of Hearing, while her second book is known as Daisy Diana Discovers: The Wonders of Weather. She is happy to serve in the community not only as a meteorologist but also as a person.
