Maurielle Lue Biography
Maurielle Lue is an American Emmy-winning reporter, anchor, and host working for FOX 2 as the co-host of The Nine and The Noon. She joined the FOX 2 team in December 2011, after previously working for WEWS-TV.
Maurielle Lue Career
Atlanta, Georgia is Lue’s native home, and her journalism career began before she graduated from high school. She had her first on-air gig as an anchor and reporter for Brookwood Upclose, while she was 15 years old. For a documentary, she did on a local shelter for troubled youth, she won her first international journalism award at the age of 16. In addition, she attended Hampton University where she studied at the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communication.
Prior to joining FOX 2, Lue worked for WEWS, the ABC Affiliate, in Cleveland Ohio where she served as a general assignment reporter traffic reporter, breaking news reporter, and morning anchor. While she worked at WEWS, she reported on the front lines of Imperial Avenue- the home of the so-called, “Cleveland Strangler,” who was convicted of killing about a dozen women and hiding their bodies inside of his home. In addition, Marielle was also in Cleveland during the departure of LeBron James. She reported for ESPN when the king took his talents to South Beach. Lue was also present when the Clevelanders burned their No. 23 jerseys and dragged them behind their cars.
After having graduated from college, Maurielle landed her first television job at NBC station WVVA in West Virginia, where she served as a weekly reporter, anchor, producer, and reporter for her weekend’s newscast. Furthermore, Lue has interviewed a number of notable icons such as; former NASA engineer, Dr. Phil and Homer Hickam, and the inspiration for the 1999 film, “October Sky.” In addition, she reported WVVA and MSNBC during the Virginia Tech massacre.
